Leica, the camera and bincoluar manufacturer, has announced a new range of equipment which includes several new digital cameras as well as sets of high end binoculars. All of the items are set for release within the next month or two so if you’re looking for a stunning digital camera as an early Christmas gift for yourself or somebody extremely special then these could be ideal.
The limited edition Leica M9 Titanium is essentially a redesigned version of the M9 but it’s not jsut any redesign having been created by Volkswagen and Audi designer Walter de-Silva. This ultra modern and stunning looking camera certainly isn’t cheap and we don’t advise letting the kids play with it – available in November, the M9 Titanium will cost £19,800.

The Leica X1 is a high performance camera that is already available in a dual colour design, but will also be manufactured in an all black, sleek looking form. It will be available from October for £1,395.

The leica D-LUX 5 is the next generation of D-LUX cameras, following on from the successful and popular D-LUX 4. A 24x super zoom lens and very high quality image reproduction make this series one of the best performers and one of the most popular of all Leica high end cameras. It will be available in October for £630.

The compact V-LUX 2 is lightweight and small so that it can be carried anywhere that you might want to take photos. It also has a 24x super zoom lens and a 3″ rotating LCD display and will cost you around £675 when it is available from shops in October this year.

The Leica Silverline collection is a series of high power and visually stunning binoculars – these are set for release in November and will vary in price from £379 to £1,489.

AND for a simple conversion from GBP to USD, simply double the pounds to equal the dollars less are few.  About $38K for that Titanium!   scared blue  NOTE:  this is the rule of thumb that I use when buying Portmerion in GB, as the final US cost determines just how much I want that item.
