If the population of duck hawks continues growing at its current rate, small mammals in St. Johns County might soon have more to worry about.

A team of trackers who monitor the local migration flights of the peregrine falcon, or duck hawk (for its taste for water fowl), reported that over a 16-day period this year, 939 peregrines flew past a platform at Guana River State Park.
