Hey Nan - there is a deaf family up on the West River (Parents teach at Gaulledet in DC).  The 2 girls have a "celebration" pigeon business, where the dye the birds (temp colors), release them at the event, and the birds come home.  Ok, some hit the eventually come home mark.  I wonder if this guy is a "celebration" pigeon?

I was looking at pictures of dyed pigeons and they don't look anything like this. I really think this guy is real.

Well. if this pigeon is dyed they sure did a heck of a job. look at how the yellow blends with the green and then gets darker at the wing tips. check out dyed pigeons on the web. They don't look at all like this one.
