I took these pictures through a picture window with a sun glare. I did not want to go out side to spook the bird. I hope this post works

You could be correct.  happy Then again you might have a Red Shoulder Hawk (size, coloring, and low fence location).  Where are our Photoshoppers?

Looks like it has a speckled chest, hard to tell because of the blur. Good mystery pic Joe.

My first impression is red tail hawk, though I may be imagining seeing a belly band.  My sense is that the tail is too long for a peregrine-they also don't usually come down that low-chest seems too pale for a cooper's hawk or red-shoulder.

I vote for Coop as well...shape and size, especially the long tail.  Plus the location/behavior; hanging out in a yard seems Cooper's Hawk-ish.

No good field marks, but everything about the shape just says "Coop" to me.
