Billy from Buffalo is banded 77/AX Black over Green.  Close, but no cigar!

Just posted this over there...

I checked through the Rochester, NY band records. NY has been banding black/green VID on the left leg for several years with silver USFWS band on the right. The past few years we've had males in the 20s/BA series and females in the 90s/BA series. So I suspect it's a NY bird but likely from a different DEC region.

Something is tickling the back of my brain that I saw a video of a NYC bridge banding this year with a band number in the 70s/??, but I could well be WAY off on that.

We shall see...

No it's tickling my brain too, I know this band number from somewhere.  By 'know', I mean I saw it or one close to it either in video or a photo somewhere.

I checked all over for this band and I come up with nothing!! I searched for over an hour today on the net, finally pulled my hair out! Looks like a number we have seen, heard about, saw, but I got NADA!!

I'm thinking the reason why we think we've seen this band before is that in our minds we're combining Billy's 77/AX black/green band with our many BA black/green bands.

In the comments, I found this-

*Bird Identity learned!! Thanks everyone! Heard back from the bander and the bird has been "found". He said it's a bird from Riverside Church in NYC. Thanks again for pitching in!

Great news!  HOpe the reason they were asking was just because the bird has been 'seen' not injured.
