Dad came out of igloo vocalizing and spinning around, just ran out of view.
7.21 pm and Cadence is in, she's on top of igloo chatting and looking up at dad I expect. And she's off and back on railing now and then in to check out the igloo and waddle down the patio and up to the first ledge and off she goes.

7.47 pm and Cadence landed on railing. Food on her beak and talons, thank goodness..I was worried she wasn't getting any food. She chatted to dad a bit and he took off like a bandit.
That railing is so slippery...be scary to see juvies on there if they slip and fall.
Edit: Yay I figured it out!! I took this of Cadence tonight, had to save a smaller version to upload it here. Also posted to Rfalcon.

She is definitely old enough to lay eggs. I saw her checking out the eggs a few times today. She'll learn and her instincts will kick in.

Like everyone else, I'm conflicted. I'm glad to see Cadence's success, but I also hope that the former resident female has flown safely away, as Mariah did after losing to Beauty. Maybe her only having been at the site for a few months will have made her less determined to stay. According to one publication, only about a third of territorial battles are fatal, so I think it is more than wishful thinking.

5.30 am - Dad on eggs and Cadence perched on railing in the background.
6.07 am - Dad left about 45 minutes ago, Cadence still perched on railing.

Just a note from the archives because I'm sure the question will come up...
When Beauty re-took the TSB nest box back from Unity 4/6/2012 it was about 6 weeks before she laid an egg with Dot.ca
It may or may not take that long here for Cadence presuming she maintains possession of the igloo. Dad does not sound hostile to her like Dot was to Beauty.

Wow, it was five years ago today when we lost Unity and Beauty returned. What a shock that was. Fly free, Unity.
