5/26/25 Falcon Pics

New Guy

Just for the record, there was a feed at 9:06 on video. NG brought it in...eyas in the playpen stole it, self fed then NG took off. It looked like he might have left with it on the stills but he was empty taloned on video. A bit after 10 he came back and fed some of the gnarly bits to them so that doesn't count.

There might also have been a food drop at 4ish AM but the video skips from 3:10 to 6:54

As I mentioned the other day I remember back in the early Kodak days regular discussion if peregrines hunted at night...the answer then was occasionally but not regularly. We've found out since then it not uncommon at all! New Guy is busy busy busy on the overnights!

Fortunately, we have the data going back to 2002.

Denali to the poop deck for the first time, I believe. He actually made it out to the falcony and back into the nest box.

Watching the take off!

There have been multiple drop offs that the stills didn't catch. In this one (above) of NG the eyases are bickering over food. I caught these from the stream:

I'll tell you what, that Zephyrus is speedy. When food comes in, he's usually the first one out and grabs it!

I tried to stay up for the fireworks, but the game was running late. They must have had a rain delay. Anyway, I went to bed in the middle of the 9th.
