- Forgotten apples looking past their best in the fruit bowl? Make up for those forgotten good intentions by cutting them in half and putting them out on the ground - the blackbirds and others will thank you for it.

I have been meaning to send that tip for ages, Donna! Thanks! Also - we put a half apple on a pole (sturdy, and with a baffle... because of the Rat-Bird!) just outside our kitchen window. The critters that appear! I will see if I can get Rod to do a pic and will then send to Donna...

Oh, you hammer a nail into the top of the pole and stick the apple on that... gottit??
