Hi Diane! My sis is starting to lose her hair now, so we will be shaving our heads soon. She's missed two and a half days of work this week due to fatigue and weakness but we're grateful for the chance to fight cancer and am confident that she will beat it!! Thank you for your prayers!!  wave

My latest pics from paradise include a pretty creek I came across when going to pick up a prescription, Red-tailed Hawks soaring over the bull pasture, a red/gray squirrel eating an acorn behind the house, some baby goats and Black Angus calves and the highlight from the past few days-a pair of Egyptian Geese. Now in past trips here I had to go looking for them but this time they came to me as I was eating my cereal the other morning one of them landed in the backyard. It headed for the front yard where its mate flew in and joined it. They were both squawking and heading toward the corral where Gizzy, my sister's horse is kept at night. She did not like them waddling through her corral but they went through into the cow pasture on the other side and disappeared without incident! Check out my photo album below-I hope you like them!  wave

Hi all!  wave
The ranch held their spring bull sale yesterday and what an experience that was to attend. They auctioned off many Black Angus heffers, bulls and calves. One calf fetched the highest bid on the day-$20,000! Bull semen went for $6,000 and at the end of the day the total tally was over $700,000. Jac's ranch has some of the best bloodlines in the country! People come from around the world to buy from this stock!
Also, from this morning I filled the feeders in my sister's backyard and took pics and snippets of the action. A female Cardinal was the first visitor. Check out my photo album and 2 snippet videos below. Enjoy!

Hi Dot!
The prize bulls can fetch over $40,000!!!! My sister continues to struggle with fatigue and her hair started falling out this past Friday. We were going to shave our heads yesterday but she changed her mind. She gets her 4th chemo treatment today-she's a quarter of the way thru those and will have surgery when she's done with them.  wave

Hey there Diane!
My sister Mary Ellen and her husband Mike, my niece Lorri and her boyfriend Brad and I all worked at the sale. Us women emptied garbage, kept the drinks filled and directed people to the tent where the food was being served. The guys helped to send the cattle thru the 5 shoots leading them up into the auction ring. It was fun and tiring for all of us-yesterday was flop day at the house as we were sore and exhausted! They do it every spring and fall so they're used to it-it was a fascinating experience for me.  wave

Hello everyone!
Yesterday while we were gone to Mary Ellen's 4th chemo treatment, her 1 year old cat, Milo got himself in a predicament-he climbed a dead tree in the holler behind the house onto a branch that was 25-30 feet high and he won't come down. He's got the devil in him and is always getting into trouble-he spent the night there and Mike will try again today to coax him down since he hasn't got a ladder high enough to reach the cat. His older and wiser brother, Peanut went up a smaller tree and laid down on a branch that was only 6 feet from the ground earlier in the day.
This morning when I got up there were Goldfinches eating from the thistle sock I hung near the feeders out back. They're the first ones I've seen since I moved into Seneca Towers as I don't see many songbirds from my sky seat! A pair of House finches stopped by as well and I finally got some half way decent pics of a bluebird. Check out my photo album and a couple short snippet videos below. See ya!  wave

Hi everyone!
For those interested, Milo was rescued by Mike that afternoon (last Tuesday) while I was gone to Missouri looking for eagles. My niece's ex-boyfriend took me to a river in Missouri where he had previously seen lots of Bald Eagles. Unfortunately, there were none when he took me but it was still a nice road trip with lots of beautiful countryside to enjoy! I saw a couple baby horses, turtles sunning themselves on logs in the river, a couple Great Blue Herons in tree tops and on the shore and like everywhere around these parts, lots of Turkey Vultures. You can check out my pics by clicking the link below.  wave
