I am not sure how to post pictures from rfalconcam and am at work so I can't take the time to learn right now.
But camera 3 at 9:30 this morning shows two eggs with significant cracks, but not hatching.
Could someone please post this picture.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

I haven't done this for a year, so let's see if I remember.

Ok now I'm confused.
Beauty was off the eggs around 10:25 a.m. I have looked at views of the eggs from all three cameras and only see 1 egg that is cracked. The other two still look intact. Oh the anxiety, still watching and praying.

I think the second egg crack in the 9:30 picture is actually one of Beauty's chest feathers. So far I've only seen one for sure broken egg. I'm not saying the outcome will be any different than what we're all thinking, but they're still incubating, so who the heck knows.
When I was reading Mark Nash's thoughts earlier other nests that have gone awry came to mind...like Kathy Q & Kinney...one of the most reliable nests losing all but one eyas to...we don't even know what.
But, being the Pollyanna that I am, I had commented to someone yesterday...at least the population has rebounded well enough that the one unsuccessful nest isn't a tragedy. 20 years ago a year like this could have completely derailed the recovery effort.

I agree, it is so hard to tell exactly what is happening. I am watching the streaming video and everytime B or A show the eggs, I go to the cameras with still images or the archive viewer to get a better look. Mother nature is going to do what she wants and we just have to be thankful we have this window to view it in all its beauty.

Last year, they had two infertile eggs. If the same happened this year, the margin for a hatching would have been a small one, especially given the long gap after the first egg. If there is a nest failure, it won't be from lack of good brooding -- they both did a good job of staying on the eggs no matter what.
Maybe Beauty and Archer have a handle on the situation, given their recent mating. I wonder whether Rochester might have its first reclutch? Specto subitus, and all that.

I'm all for a reclutch!
Still I can't help but feel bad for all their efforts.

I'm hoping this is the first one which I didn't think was viable.

So sad. Will Archer and Beauty dispose of it? Is that a little chick I am seeing when I enlarge the picture?
Hopefully that is the first egg that was laid.
Hopeful words from Mark Nash that A and B could reclutch.
Both A and B seem very quiet today on the nest.
