The only hatch!  Sad

Despite 4 eggs, peregrine falcons may have only one offspring.

One of the eggs collapsed the other day-inside was yellow liquid that got onto the lone chick. People that saw what happened thought the mother had consumed the contents of the egg after it collapsed so it was hard to tell what was in it.

It is sad that only one chick hatched, and very unusual for this nest, which normally has several chicks. So many nests have had low hatch rates this year.

Just read on FB that the Dad here was found on the ground with a wing injury.  Mom is going to be the lone parent with Solo fledging soon.  Sad

Solo fledged early this AM, was found grounded, was rescued, banded, determined to be male and was released later on in the day! Quite an eventful day for Solo!
