An angry swan named Mr Asbo may no longer be able to terrorise members of the public after he was found suffering from arthritis.
The bird, which has hit the headlines after clashing with river-users over several years, was rescued by an animal-lover and taken to a wildlife centre.
RSPCA staff said he may need to have a toe Âamputated and live out his days in an animal hospital.

The swan lives on the River Cam in Cambridge, and after attacks on people using the waterway, attempts were made to have him removed.
RSPCA inspector Chris Nice said he was “surprised” a member of the public had caught Mr Asbo “with no trouble at all”.
He said: “Wild animals don’t usually live long enough to get arthritis.”
