No outdoor Christmas lights allowed at one Penfield apartment complex! One the same site
Residents of an apartment complex in Penfield say they've been told to take down their outside Christmas decorations.

They say this is definitely not in the Christmas spirit and they also say they don't want a Grinch to steal their Christmas decorations.

At Brook Hill Village across from Panorama Plaza, some residents are not happy with the management.

“You know, there's plenty of people here that do have the lights on and we like it. It kind of brings the spirit out.” Berina Softic even got a call from the rental office while at work yesterday, asking her to take down her lights but she said bah hum-bug and refused. “I just think it's ridiculous that we can't have the lights on our porch. You pay $1,200 to live here plus utilities and then they tell you you can't put anything in the walls. We don't put anything. It's just string it along. It's the holidays. Why not?”

Residents say they pay for the electricity and wonder why anyone would object to putting out lights and other Christmas decorations.

Resident Sandy Wurzer said, “Well, I just think it's kind of like Scrooge at Christmastime that you can't have lights up. It makes it homey in here. This is our home. So I think that part is unfair that they've asked some people, maybe not others, to take their lights down.”

Another resident, Joyce Howard said, “My feeling is this is our home and we should be entitled to enjoy the holidays like everyone else and decorate for them, as long as it's not so invasive on other people.”

There were quite a few apartments decorated outside for Christmas so it appears some people are refusing to take their decorations down.

News 10NBC has placed calls to two different property managers today to inquire about the outdoor Christmas decorations but no one has called back.

(I think this is RIDICULOUS)!!! Pretty soon we will all be fined for putting up CHRISTMAS decorations!! Give me a break!

Please take the following comments as BIGFRANK the person not as any representative of anything else!!
Here in Canada there have even been cases where CHURCHES are asked to remove nativity scenes as it offends someone! Schools cannot sing Christmas Carols and gone are the days of a Christmas Pagent or plays in schools. I recall as a grade 1 student playing Joseph ! I guess now Id be thrown out of school! Naturally I was also called upon to be Santa many times too lol(for more than obvious reasons). Merry Christmas has been banned at work places..gotta say thats just the organization being silly anyone who came to the bank I worked at,if they didnt celebrate Christmas and we said it,merely let us know and Id ask well how do you celebrate at this time of year? It is actually quite interesting to learn. Clients of all race and religion even those that didnt celebrate Xmas would bring some small gift in,generally cookies, chocolates or a few coffees for staff they didnt care..the painfully politically correct big bosses did. Thankfully our little jewish mayor decided after Toronto city council passed some idiotic bylaw about the tree at city hall being called a holiday tree, said no way..that is a Christmas tree and its what it will be called! Thanks Mel!!
I think in the case above its a matter of nailing things into the building or maybe owners worrying about things falling off the building?? God(oops sorry) forbid a 1ounce lightbulb hits something?!! Ok Im done ranting..my rants sometimes draw raves U know? LOL
Everyone enjoy a Merry Christmas time, whether U celebrate it or not!

One wonders how many other countries feel they must remove evidence of their traditional celebrations for fear of offending ex-pat Americans...

Probably remembering where I've been lately and inserting it in the ad...
