Oh yes, I have read much about her. Marie Winn wrote about her extensively in her Pale Male book. She was an institution. She did so much for birding. I knew she was terminally ill. So sad to lose a treasure like Starr.

She sounds like quite a character - who has left a wonderful legacy. Would that all of us could do the same.

I had read about her not too long ago. She was quite a lady and such a sad loss for so many.
