Sure hope we get at least one clear night here to see this amazing sight! I loved watching Hale-Bopp... eerie, weird and wonderful.

We tried for it Sunday night but a combination of obstructions to the west and lights kept it from working. We will try again tonight.

Here on the west coast we have clear skies.
We should be able to see the Comet tonight. It is
supposed to be on the left side of the Moon after
sunset. Hope that a lot of you will be able to see it.

I saw it! Before about 8 PM, the sky was too light. After about 8:05, the comet had vanished below the tree line. Timing is everything!

Hope you get fewer clouds tonight. It will be between the moon and the horizon at sundown tonight, so easier to pick out. I was able to find it only with binoculars.

Thanks, Paul. I am not good at finding locations. So far, so good re weather, but as they say here: "Don't like the weather? Just wait a minute!" Will bring the bins and watch where you recommend. Slainte from Bobbie

Here is Comet Pan-STARRS, taken near my house at 7:55 EDT, March 14, 2013. The exposure was 2 seconds at f/5.6 with ASA 400.
