   My alarm is set. I will drag myself out of bed, make the traditional on-line donation and then go back to sleep.

   After I am really awake, I am going to use the Qualified Charitable Donation trick to not have to pay taxes on a Required Minimum Distribution by having a check issued directly to the Rochester Audubon Society – earmarked for rfalconcam.
   I am guessing I am in a minority this year here at rfalconcam for having to spend down my IRA, but I am writing about it, in case there are others who are also in their early 70s and have the duty to do that as well and can use it to make a tax free donation to support this wonderful site.

   I believe I had it made out to the name given on the website. The checks were issued by my brokerage, I just have to mail them out to the recipients.
