Fledge Watch- Liza Otto, Tuesday, July 3, 7:30-9:30PM

I have not been down to watch in a few days due to family obligations and I am amazed at how capable the fledglings are . I am grateful for such a smooth fledging year! The fledglings are so adept, I keep mixing them up with their parents. They are gliding so well!

Tonight most of our activities were around the stacks. We had all birds in view and there was a food drop that ended up on Bldg 10 with Mariah guarding closely, and then some brisk flying and sibling teasing around Beebe station and the stacks. Mariah and Kaver each took turns in flight to the kakking response of their offspring.

We thought that they were bedding down for the night as the familiar red lights appeared on the Kodak tower, and all of our raptor family headed in to bldg 10 for the evening. But as this clutch loves to do, they stared flying again, looping the stacks until 9:15. We even spotted a juvenile flying into the gorge and landing on the east side when the sun had set and there was just a glimmer of light left ! There were lots of new pictures being taken by the regulars. I am sure they will be posted! I departed at 9:20 having accounted for all of our flying friends!
