Thanksgiving morning Falcon Watch 11-26-15

Happy Thanksgiving to all!
I started my watch from Seth Green Dr. with Billie and Seth on the northwest corner of Seneca Towers. She was on the railing and he was right below her on the roof.
They stayed this way for about 10 minutes and then at 7:25am Billie flew off almost taking Seth with her-he spread his wings and followed right behind his mate, down into the river gorge. These two are practically inseparable these days.
When they didn’t return I left for downtown-first stop was the Andrews St. bridge where I spotted Dot.ca (DC) on the Ellwanger & Barry green strip ledge eating.
I drove over to Corinthian St. right across State St. which is situated between the Crossroads building and the Holiday Inn (formerly the Rochester Plaza Hotel). DC finished eating soon after I arrived then came out to the edge and did a lot of feaking and cleaning up with a pretty full crop.
He lost his footing a couple times and I thought he would fall off the ledge but managed to catch himself by using his wings.
DC gave a wave, spread his wings, then flew off to the east across the river and left my field of vision.
I drove around to the Broad St. Bridge and found Beauty on the base of Mercury. She had a depleted crop and was in hunt mode.
Flocks of pigeons started flying back and forth over the river in front of her and I knew it was only a matter of time before she made a move on them. Off she went at 8:16am passing overhead and just as I was starting to get out of the car so I could follow their flight she must have hit one of them because feathers were floating down onto the sidewalk.
This was that pigeon’s lucky day for it escaped with its life and the Beautyful one broke off and flew east past the Radisson Hotel out of view. I didn’t find her or DC again but they sure did give me some action while they hung out with me. I ended my watch at 9am after coming up empty at the Medley Centre again. I went home thankful for seeing our 4 resident Rochester Peregrine Falcons and yes, I was smiling! 🙂
