Fledge Watch – 6/10/25
By Rochester Falcon Watcher Carol P.

We were so excited to see Denali and Anders at the nest box this afternoon!
The morning watchers, Dana, Larry O, Kathy O, Shaky and Carol P. And Ei, who along with Shaky does an outstanding job keeping up with the juvies with our Rfalconcam cameras.
The juvies were quickly positively Id’d. That’s the first thing we do when we arrive early. Sometimes it’s easy, sometimes it’s not. I really like when it’s easy. lol
There was a cool breeze, but it was a beautiful, sunny morning after heavy rain storms last night. There was some fantastic flying by both juvies and adults. The adults are teaching the juvies how to fly. Pretty amazing to watch. Much of the morning was quiet though.
Denali, the first to fledge, was more active than his brothers.
Oh, look! Zephyrus is currently at the nest box with food. So, all 3 juvies visited the nest box this afternoon!
At 1:30 pm, I handed the watch over to Carrie.

It seems to me that Zepherus is the clumsiest flier. Denali zipped around like there was nothing to it, videos of Anders show competence, but Z just seems to be hesitant and stumbling in the air (if one can say that).
