In a welcome change from my experience yesterday, there was an abundance of flying to be seen this morning. I’ve written about it and posted pictures for you to enjoy at Peregrinations:

I’ve run out of adjectives to describe your photos, Jim. I love the one of Zephyr up close on building 10. And the “talons out” with Mariah and Zephyr – well, I’ve never seen anything like it. Bravo again !!!

I would love to be the person in the office building looking out my window when someone comes in for the landing on the ledge – how amazing!! Great as always 🙂

Unbelievably breathtaking! Being new to this, I wondered about your comment of yesterday’s being a “quiet” watch. Now I totally understand. Today looked like a beautiful day in Rochester for frisky youngsters. Thank you for making it possible to see the Falcons-In-Training…Jim, maybe you need a spotter to watch your back! Quest doesn’t miss a beat with the transmitter. Has anyone else ever observed what appeared to be “decoy food drop” behavior before?

We’ve observed food drops before, but no decoy drops that I’m aware of. The more I think about it, the more I think that maybe he was intending to lure Seneca with it. On the other hand, these birds work off instinct, so who knows what was in that little raptor brain of his?

Good points, Jim. The parenting skills are quite impressive in this species.

Jim wonderufl job. I so look forward to your reports and pictures, they are amazing. I feel like I am right there. I so wish someone could have snagged a picture of Mariah stooping you. I also loved the pictures of Mariah and Zephyr playing, those were the best. I want to thank you for the great reports and keep up the great job.
Someone had mentioned in a reply to your report about the smokestacks crying out “nest box”. I hope someone heard that. Maybe that would work. Even though I have lived here my whole life, I really don’t know the whole set up of all these sites these falcons seem to like to hang.
