Thanks Donna! I haven't been quilting very long but have been sewing all my life. I hope you also checked out some of my posts from last summer. More bird and wildlife stuff there.

Thanks for the birthday wishes. I love to lurk mostly, but keep tabs on all the activities.

The live video is awesome this year. Just wish I could watch at work.

Why is distribution of child porn illegal but this is not? I'm confused by this. ???

Wow!  That is a lot of snow Janet.  I like your Christmas decorations in the house, too.

Check out these videos I found on the Weather channel web site of dogs and one cat from the south enjoying the snow.  I would bet it is the first time some of these guys have seen this stuff.

Enjoy:

Here's some additional pictures of Mariah from Tuesday the 27th, at both the mall on my lunchhour, and at St. Ann's after work.

I was off work today, but still managed, despite the ALL DAY rain, to take a couple of trips around the area. I was unable to see Mariah anywhere.  Hopefully tomorrow.

At 4:30pm today my husband and I were driving on our way home from work along 104 and saw Mariah on the glass pyramid again today.

I was driving by the Mall at 3:30 today and could see Mariah sitting on her pyramid.  Difficult to drive straight when you are looking at the Queen while driving 60+ mph along the highway.  Good thing my husband was along so he could confirm the sighting for me.  thumbsup

Jim,

You might also check with the Cornell Cooperative Extension.  They often deal with plant pests. spider

Thanks for all the great comments and I'm glad you all enjoyed the videos.   thanx

Aafke, I should be producing more videos and blog posts in the future.  I am trying to do at least one a week so stay tuned. There is always something going on around our yard (we have 5 acres)!

Donna, the Oriole in the videos is a juvenile and doesn't have the same striking color of the male.  Here is a picture of a male from behind.  You can see how he has more black and a brighter orange color.

A couple of Saturdays ago my husband, Charlie, and I were treated to a couple of hours of entertainment by the critters that call our property home (or were just passing through that day).  You can read about the action and watch some videos I took that day on my blog.

http://birdbrainsanddogtales.wordpress.com/

There are birds and critters, but no snakes, so there is no warning necessary.  I think most of you will enjoy all of the action.

Happy viewing,

Robitussin DM is commonly used to quiet the cough from kennel cough.  Be sure to check with the vet on dosage.  Have used it with our dogs over the years.  Works well so the owner and dog can get a good nights sleep.  thumbsup dogwag

I would also like to introduce my current office cat, Marie.  She is available for adoption at Lollypop Farm in Fairport, NY.  For the out of towners reading this post, Lollypop Farm is the local Humane Society.  This weekend we are having special pricing on all cats and kittens to help alleviate the flood of them that always happens this time of year.  Adult cats 1 year and older are FREE!!!   2thumbsup

Sorry for the plug, but it gets really crowded in the shelter with all the cats during the summer months.  If anyone is in the Rochester area and has been thinking of adding a cat to their home now is the time.  I am sure Shaky will be beating a hasty path there as soon as he reads this!  kittykiss

Cindy

Just thought I would let you all know that Marie was adopted yesterday!  mbanana yahoo cat

I don't know if it was someone from this board or just someone that saw her on the Lollypop Farm web site and came in to see her, but I am so happy that she has a new home.

Thanks to anyone that may have added a new member to their family this weekend or anytime you adopt from any shelter.  All of us that work in the animal welfare field are always thankful for all those of you that think to adopt from a shelter / rescue group.  thumbsup

P.S. Would love to hear if you were the one that adopted her.
