Great pictures Janet - what a lovely home you have! Thanks for sharing! Loved the pictures of Bart around the house!
That snow is something else..... I feel so guilty - it was 70 degrees here yesterday!
Hope all you Midwest and East Coasters are surviving the snow OK!
Best wishes and Happy New Year to all, from sunny SoCal!
Jennifer -
Down here in Calvert County where we were in the initial blizzard and high snowfall zone because of the nor'easter, we hunkered down and took pictures! It is cold and pretty.

Dear Anne:
Have been away from the forum for a while, but was so sorry to read of your Dad's passing. I have always enjoyed your stories of him, and what a fine person he was.
My sincere condolences to you and your family.
Jen in SoCal -
It's with sadness that I let our friends, here on rfalconcam, know, that my treasured father, Fred Vickers, died at 5pm today. He celebrated his 94th birthday on the 8th of December. My husband, Kevin, and I took over a little cake, with three candles, and he was able to blow out the candles and eat some cake. Although he was very tired and not too verbal, he knew who we were and smiled at our singing of Happy Birthday! Starting last evening, Dad went to a deeper level, so we went over this morning and stayed with him when he died this afternoon. He wasn't suffering at all, just plain worn out. Although I am sad, I have lots of wonderful memories and knowledge from my Dad. He and Mom always educated my brother and me about birds and all things "Nature". Without that knowledge, I probably never would have found the Kodak peregrines and likely wouldn't have stopped to see what those two birds were in the (nest) box! And what a loss that would have been! I was so pleased, too, after showing Dad the Kodak website, that he decided that he wanted to join too! He was very proud to be the oldest member and loved the daily posts, puzzles and photographs, and all the birthday wishes over the years! You all were very accepting and supportive, especially Nora in Iowa (who he adopted as his second daughter!) and Aafke, whose puzzles and ecards he loved! Even in the hospital, where he was since May 22nd, he wanted to hear about the peregrines and you people! Thank you, my friends, for accepting my Dad into this friendly and knowledgeable group, and for being so kind to him! You are all very special!

"Enjoy these early Autum images of my home decorations! " Love your new home Janet - how are you enjoying being a landlubber? Been a westcoaster for 30 years, and still miss fall......but 70 degrees in October is pretty good too!
Thanks for the great pics,

I went with the guy who wants to destroy condor habitat - there's been sooooo much hard work put in to bringing these birds back from extinction and, since I work at one of the places that is deeply involved in that project, I had to vote for him - the dirtbag...
I'm with you Judi - I voted for this creep too......and thanks for all the good work you guys do at the LA Zoo...... Jen in SoCal

Just back in town from a few days away from the smell of smoke. Fire has moved on thank goodness and is now burning in the San Gabriel Wilderness area with no current threat to homes. Cause has been determined as arson - unbelievable!
Sue (Bess) thanks for your good wishes - unfortunately the wildlife did not fare well once the backfires started, as those still in the area had no escape route. I'm hoping most were able to get out before however.
Judi - Yes, I did hear that you guys took in some of Martine's critters, but that the folks at Shambala decided to shelter-in-place. Do you still have some or are they back home now?

This is my first post on the new board, so be patient!
Just wanted to check in with my fellow SoCals to make sure the fire has not affected you all too much? Judi? Sharron in Canyon Country?
We were evacuated for a short time on Sunday night, but all is OK now. I live in La Crescenta, and the back-fires they lit behind us were both awesome and effective.
Take care everyone, be safe.
