And here's another Finch -- the purple finch, the state bird of New Hampshire. They really do look like they've been dipped in raspberry juice. I have them occasionally at my feeder, but not as often as the house finch.

I've been following Laura Erickson's blog Twin Beaks: The First Blog By Birds For Birds. Her photos and comments (rather the birds' comments) are a great way to start the day. Since about June 11, though, she has been highlighting the wildlife found in the Gulf of Mexico habitat and therefore affected by the BP oil spill. Her first "I'm the Gulf of Mexico" entry was on June 11 -- check that one here and then keep reading the newer posts -- she has over 30 of those posts so far.

May have figured out a possible issue -- the problem shows up on my desktop Mac with processor that is NOT Intel-based. But the site comes up fine on my MacBook that is Intel-based.

I am getting the same blank page/done on that site. Have never had any problems before. I, too, am on Firefox 3.6.3 (on Mac) but think my problem started shortly before that upgrade.

I miss checking that site and seeing C&C's photos.

I like the "show unread posts" option under the Forum tab -- real handy. Thanks, Shaky.
