Rochester Falcons / Rochester Falcon Discussion / Re: 2020 Pictures from the Rfalconcam Cameras

As we travel the expressways around town, we're usually sighting a falcon or two, on highway lamp posts near, either I590/Monroe (exit 2), I390/West Ridge (exit 24), or, today, at I390/Ridgeway (exit 23).
They're never close enough to eyeball any bands, nor are we ready to take any pictures...but they're exciting to spot.

About Baby acting strange--When Cadence and Baby hadn't had food for a long spell, Cadence went out and came back in with a huge prey and cleaned it and proceeded to eat herself Very quickly like she was starving and gave Baby what was left which was but a bite or two and stuffed large feathers into the little one--could those feathers cause a problem ? I had never seen huge feathers being fed to the babies. Another note, I had seen little ones at our nest boxes in Rochester over the years, when they don't want any more, they hop away and turn their backs and look at the back wall--this poor baby probably can't eat any more. We have to have hope for Cadence and Dad's little one. Felt I had to say something. . . Christiane

There had been a beautiful egret and a good-sized blue heron a few years ago that spent a few summers at Lake Riley (Cobb's Hill Park) across from the Armory, both in the lake for long periods of time and the blue heron sitting atop the lamp posts at other times--they were just beautiful! Rochester Falcons / Rochester Falcon Discussion / Juvie at Monroe Ave and 590
|
on: 01-Jul-15, 10:12:57 PM

Pretty sure we may have spotted a juvie falcon on a light pole on 590 So. on the bridge over Monroe Ave this evening at around 8:45 pm. Appeared to be brown with a spotted chest--not a hawk. Anyone else see one of ours flying in that area? Going too quickly to see any color bands. Looked to be a good size. Christiane
