Peregrine falcons born in police custody after smuggling swoop
Eleven rare peregrine falcons were born in custody after police managed to stop a man smuggling their eggs out of the country.
Officers from West Midlands Police
kept the eggs warm on a computer terminal
at Birmingham International Airport until a police wildlife rescue unit arrived.
Eleven of the 14 eggs recovered
by officers from the force's Counter-Terrorism Unit hatched.
The birds will now be returned to the wild.

That second pic with the two groups of four looks like they are gossiping in separate cliques!

Oh my Lord! What a strange story, thankfully with a happy ending! I wonder why the eggs were being smuggled out of the country. I also wonder if they will be returned to their own parents, and if their parents will take them in now that they've interacted with humans.

There is a lucrative market in the Middle East for peregrine falcon eggs. This is not the first time it's happened over there.
