heart wub2 pray Thank goodness!  This is such wonderful news for our ROC falcons.  Unbelievable!
I just lit some candles for our Beauty and her egg!  Think of all that has happened since February when Beauty was injured.  She has survived so many things!  She held her own space.  Now she has her egg, and from the looks of things, her hormones have driven her to accomplish all of this.  Celebrate today - the day that Beauty laid her egg!
Now I have a question, although I think I know the answer:  has an egg ever been laid this late in season in Rochester?  Anywhere in this area?  It's May 16, so when will the egg hatch?  Banding ?  Fledge watch?    Am I asking too many questions?

Never too many questions Wink

Not this late in Rochester that I'm aware of.  But CPF assures us they have had clutches laid as late as the end of May with successful hatching & fledging. Toronto is, of course, just across the lake.

Hatch will be 33-35 days after the nest to last egg is laid when hard full time incubation starts.

Have to do some math for banding & fledge estimates-too tired right now.

Great River Energy, Minnesota -  last year also when Dot replaced the resident female there late in April.  She produced 4 new eggs by end of May and all hatched successfully.  No reason not to be optimistic!
