My garden: A new kind of bird in my garden
«

Yesterday I saw a new kind of bird in my garden.
It's a Goldfinch, but not the American Goldfinch, (Carduelis tristis) it's family (Carduelis carduelis)
I'm very happy to see a new kind of bird in my garden, I saw him before but not in my garden.
He was eating from the seeds of the cosmea.
This one has no red on his head, it's a juvenile.
This is how the adult looks like:

I think it's a beautiful bird with the black and white, red and yellow.

He is pretty! American goldfinches love Cosmos seeds too...I'm always amazed that they can perch on them without the stems falling over.

Wow Aafka! He looks really different from the bright yellow ones that I have. He looks like the best of the House and Gold Finches. Hmmm a "best of"
