Shawn and Mitchell took the baby today to the hack box. Our little boy ended up being a girl!!!!

Here is a report from Rolf, the NPS Biologist at the hack box with photos of the six we took from the two bridges last week:
5/15/12 - 6 young peregrines are placed in a hackbox in Shenandoah National
Park.
5/16/12 - Pefs ate about 2/3 of quail
5/17/12 - Pefs ate all quail.
5/23/12 - the 6 young falcons continue to eat well and are nearly fully
feathered.

5/28 or 5/29 are tentative release days.

Thanks Kris G.   Question, how do hackbox kids know how to hunt without being taught? Does instinct kick in? Isn't it crucial for mom and dad to show them the ways?
