Janet's Christmas, House, and Red Should Hawk Pictures

Long awaited and finally here! I needed some time to edit and upload all of these images and here are the results. The top link will bring you to the entire Gallery, which will allow you to pick and review the albums that you might be interested in and may have missed.
The next four links are specific to Christmas at home and in NC. The aftermath of the Blizzard is also included. Note our first look at our resident Red Shoulder Hawk in the early aftermath images! Although I didn't get any pictures of it, we had a Bald Eagle in the backyard when the digging out was complete.
The final link is our RSH. All images were shot through our bedroom window (not optimum, but you take what you are given). The first shots were taken New Year's Day in the freezing rain. The remainder on Sunday 1/3/2010. I suspect female and she didn't appear hungry, as she hung around for at least 1/2 sunning and preening. I'll watch the squirrel population! Check out her back in the very first image.
Anyway, view as much or as little as you like and please enjoy!

Hi Janet,
Tell Rich that it is a female red-bellied woodpecker. The flicker is very brown.
I love the red-shouldered hawk. For such a predator, it has the sweetest face.
Happy New Year, gal.

Rich says "thanks"! Helen, that face is so sweet - I really want to cuddle it. I can't but what a face! I'll be on the lookout for her this weekend - I know I have a great food supply and selection, so I suspect she'll be back. Happy New Year to you, too!
