Tomorrow my husband & I will be traveling down to North Carolina by car, then riding the Blue Ridge Parkway by motorcycle(bike in trailer on the way down). We are bringing our binoculars for some bird watching, and hopefully take some good pictures too!
See you all next week!

You're probably gone already and I just saw this. I haven't been on a motorcycle since '78 or so. Never drove one, but loved riding on it. That sounds fantastic, pictures I've seen are beautiful down there. Be safe and looking forward to hearing all about it.

MABRY MILL!!!!! Will be on the northbound side in VA (just a bit above NC). An ABSOLUTE must see and photograph. While in that "neighborhood" go up the Parkway a bit and enjoy lunch at Chateau Morrisette Winery in Floyd, VA (a very nice stop or even destination). About an hour north will be the Peaks of Otter - you'll see. Oh, and Smith Mountain Lake is between the 2 destinations!

Thank you, everyone- we had a great time! Unfortunately with the Parkway being 469 miles long, we were only able to do a small section of it on this trip. We will definitely be back, Janet, to travel the section you mentioned! We did the section between Asheville, NC & Cherokee, NC(where the Pkwy begins). This section was just beautiful! We also did a trip to the Tail of the Dragon(on the TN/NC border in the Smoky Mtns). These roads were quite challenging to say the least! haha! Lynn, I highly recommend doing the section we did, but I am sure the whole Parkway is wonderful! And I didn't see one falcon, except on our way home, by the shore of Lake Erie! A tercel, I think, was very white! All in all, a great trip, with nice people, good food & awesome scenery in NC!
