It's always not easy to see them in difficulty and not be able to help. I remember when I saw Archer to come back to NB injured. It was very sad.
That was an awful day..poor Archer.

I was watching that day when Archer came back to the nest. Poor little guy. It was devastating to see him that way. He is not forgotten.

Found a video and there is a large conference room window behind the nest box with a curtain they put up for privacy. The windows below looked reflective in the video but who knows if they are up there - as why would they have a curtain?! So not sure now what I saw ...I just hope Barb is somewhere safe and is able to heal up. I know it's the way of the falcon but I hate to see one injured like that out on her own.
This is the last bird I saw on cam today before I had to go out.
I think the idea that she may have been interacting with her reflection is a good one, and quite likely to be the case. I think she is a young bird, probably born in 2012 or 2013.

Pardon me for asking what may be a stupid question, but the Barb who is injured and displaced in Baltimore is not Pigott's daughter Barb, is it? And if not, what are the odds there would be two falcons named Barb?

Not a stupid question at all. And not the same Barb, this bird was banded in 2002 so she was 13 years old this year.

I don't watch this cam so didn't know how old Barb was. How old is Boh?

Some history found on BCAW:
http://www.peregrinefalcon-bcaw.net/viewtopic.php?f=351&t=1991&start=0
which led to a link here and birth years and locations of both birds on CMNH

I'd say at 13 years old she's entitled to retire now and hopefully she survives to live out a peaceful existence for however long she has left. Thanks Carly.

I posted on their FB page that they had a new female and they replied today. Said they would review the footage from yesterday and see if they could get a read on the female's bands.
