BB at UB today

Central Terminal's little Frightful was rescued today in Ontario, and taken to a rehab.  Nothing serious, a wing abrasion, and release is anticipated shortly.

On a sadder note, Central Terminal's Dyngus likely had a fatal collision with a car as he was found by the Clinton exit of the thruway this week.

These reports along with Roger having seen a lot of flying activity at CT a couple days ago, make we wonder why they are still in the vicinity at this time of year.  I would have expected them to be migrating by now, and especially Dyngus, going north instead of south as winter approaches is curious.

Wow Sage, where ya been? Oh I'm so sorry about Dyngus, so sad to hear this.

Glad Frightful will be OK. Yeah, why are they there? Lots to ponder! Thanks for popping in, keep us posted.

Sage,

Ontario, Canada or Ontario, NY??  They might just not travel far the first year.  So sad about Dyngus.  Fly free, little buddy

Dyngus maybe had a short circuit with his instincts.  Sad heart

Ont, CA.  We're all confused as to why they are still here.  After they left their CT base camp, they were often seen around nearby church steeples.  We were involved with other issues and just weren't checking closely anymore, thinking they had gone on their way.  We definitely need more watchers here!

Thank you all for your kind thoughts~

Very sad news Sage.  Can't your local audubon society put out a call for volunteers to help with your Falcon Watch?  That's one of the reasons we have so many Watchers here in Rochester.  Many locals saw June's article in the D&C (local newspaper) and attended the meeting.  That's how I became involved.

!!! Frightful Recovering
October 14, 2010 - New York - Buffalo
Frank Butson Reports:

This just in…The Owl Foundation, has a visitor from the United States! Meet “Frightful”, a young male Peregrine Falcon recovered in Burlington. Frightful is recovering from road rash and severe bruising to the underside of his right wing. He’s still very sore, but is enjoying the space and quail he’s receiving in his flight training complex. Frightful was banded at Buffalo Central Terminal this past spring.

Seems to be doing some what better...Get well soon Frightful!
