We are in Niagara Falls ON, at the Hilton, the Falls are AMAZING!  We came over the Peace Bridge from Buffalo and drove past canals and marinas in Canada.  Any suggestions for lunch and a beer at the equivalent of a crab shack/seafood joint/bar and boats?  Had dinner at Skylon last night and really helped the local economy, so we want normal good food and a view of the Lake (Erie or Ontario) today.  Thanks!

No, I guess I wasn't clear - I said the equivalent of a crab shack.  Perhaps I should have said local hangout, joint, dump, bar on the water???????

Glad we cleared that up. Joyce should have some ideas since she works in Buffalo.

Janet - OMG, I feel terrible I didn't see your message until I checked from work today.  Our company is being inspected by the government, and I put checking the forum on the back burner (even on the weekend).

The only places I am familiar with where you could see water are Shanghai Red's near the small boat harbor at opening of lake, Dock of the Bay on lake Erie, and Harry's Harbour Place on the river before you get to the lake.

I don't know where you ended up, but I also would have suggested the Pearl Street Grill in downtown Buffalo, and if you wanted to sample the authentic chicken wings...the local dive and famous Anchor Bar, where they originated.

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner.

Don't feel bad - drove over to Niagara on the Lake, hemorrhaged money, had a nice lunch, bought some wine - what's not to like?
