The cams are back up at the Tacony-Palmyra Bridge nest site, and at least one of the peregrines has started to visit the nest.

I think it would be very difficult for chicks to fledge into the maze of metal surrounding the nest, with the river below.

I hope they will have a successful year. Last year, this pair raised one chick.

Last year, the Tacony-Palmyra pair raised three chicks. Three were banded, but it seems that one was lost at fledging. The details provided were "One fledgling DOR 6/7."  Not sure what DOR stands for.

On August 6, 2016, a male juvie from this nest, banded 94/AM, was killed at Harrisburg Airport.  Sad

So only one of last year's juvies is still potentially out there somewhere.

This year, the female laid her first egg on March 18. I have not seen her off the eggs since March 25, when there were three eggs.

Now, she is incubating five beautiful eggs! I have never seen five eggs at this nest before.

March 10, 2018

The Palmyra beauty has been spending quite a bit of time at the nest lately:

She stayed for a while, and when she moved, her first egg came into view:
