It's possible, Donna. I know they have had at least six eggs.
The only nest I can think of at the moment which had eight eggs was the Alliant Columbia Generating Station nest at Pardeeville, Wisconsin in 2008. Six chicks were banded.
In 2010 that nest had seven eggs, and again six chicks were banded.
Meantime, the Wilmington pair have their second egg:

I think they had 2 females at the nest laying eggs, (Don't quote me) but I think they had to take 1 or 2 hatches away as it was hard for mom and dad to care for 8 babies!! Was I dreaming???

The last time I saw the eggs was on March 23. At that time there were five eggs! I don't know if this is the final count or not. Have not been able to catch the birds off the eggs for the past few days.
