Thanks Donna. I haven't seen the male yet today.

Male is home now and on eggs apparently.  There have been reports of third bird in several territories over the past 24 hours - it's that time of year and there are many pefa's looking for a home.  We had a third here at Bloor Issy yesterday as well and I witnessed some interaction between another pefa and Lucky that resulted in a high speed chase out.  There is also a new female in Richmond, VA as of yesterday as well and Utica, NY had a third as well on cam that went right to nest box.

We need to put a flashing sign on that empty box in Buffalo  Embarrassed

Just curious how these m/f falcons find all these nests!! Are they just cruising along and they see a place and think, "Hey, this looks like a good place", or do they see another falcon and follow and think, "this is a good place to start a fight for the nest?" It just baffles me that usually at every nest site, you find a 3rd ready to battle it out or try!! As big as all these areas are, they find the nests!!  crazy crazy

And they don't have AAA or Michelin, or apartmentfinder.com, or anything like that!

Large falcon in air back and forth on cam 3, female on ledge defensive.  Whoever it is means business this time.  Mom is spinning around like a top.

Resident female outside then inside nest box. Still acting defensive but is sitting on eggs a bit more. Male taking his turn as well. Let's see if any additional eggs will be laid. Just remember folks... "turnabout is fair play" as they say. This resident female either chased off the previous year's female or killed her. She was last seen on Christmas Day.

Resident female in nest but def on guard! Can see her wounded chest!

I hope this ends soon, battle going on 6 days!

Nature Rules!

It's really remarkable how much stamina and resolve nature can show us. Many days I watched Beauty out maneuver and out last both Pigott and DC's attempts to take over her Times Square nest. This struggle will end at some point-this IS the falcon way. Hopefully everyone survives.  heart

Okay both sets of wings moved, they seem stuck there.  Cam operator online and moving cam to see them.
