9.19 am and he's back on eggs, no sign of Cady yet.

1.19 pm and dad was off the eggs pebble picking when Cadence came in. Bowing and chatting going on. He's been in there a few hours now and he's out as Cadence moves in to take over. Soon as I said that she ran out too.

1.27 pm and he snuck back in and is on eggs.

2.32 pm and Cady in nest box.

2.35 pm well that was interesting, he tried to sneak back in to the box - and she jumped right in front of the eggs and he took off.

2.37 pm and she walked out and down the ledge...

2.40 pm and dad snuck back inside, dozing on eggs Smiley

4.39 pm and Cadence just flew in, she's outside the igloo calling for dad who is pretending he is alseep on the eggs...haha..he's flipping his head back and forth..too funny!  He reminds me of DC..lol..and off the eggs and out he goes...

4.54 pm and dad sneaks back in on the eggs.

5.44 pm and a heated conversation as Cady flew in and got male off eggs and out, she seemed upset and she stepped on both eggs for good measure as she chased him out of igloo.  He took off like a bandit and she's standing quietly by eggs now.

5.51 pm and she's working on her scrape, she likes the side to the right of the igloo..I've seen her make a scrape there 3 times now.

8 pm - Cadence booted male out of nest area. It looks like she is getting closer to egg laying. She has egg butt. Cadence assumes position, then moves. I think she is like her mom...it used to take her awhile for the first egg too.

Yes I see her Joyce.  She's very much like Beauty, in temperament too ... I see her yell at him sometimes and you see how her mouth is moving and even without sound you know she's taking him to task.

And I know he'll be a good dad and I know they're just out of sync at the moment - hopefully an 'egg' will re-calibrate him and they'll be on the same page.  happy

5.52 am - Dad back in on eggs.

91/BA seems to also be developing a brood patch as she was observed plucking or preening feathers from her chest as well. A brood patch in falcons develops with the help of hormones, which helps to thicken the skin and loosens the feathers on the chest that usually is bare of feathers. This happens so that the bird can have direct contact between skin and eggs, keeping the eggs and chicks warm. You might notice that the falcons will rock side to side when laying on the eggs. Rocking helps to expose area to the eggs. It may just be that she is slowly getting comfortable with the incubation process and her role. Only time will tell. 7.50 am and she jumps down to porch and into box she goes, chatting away.

8.00 am and stand off continues.  He's pretending she's not there and if he does that, he doesn't have to move..lol

8.04 am and Cadence moves further into the box, male still on eggs.

12.03 pm and dad is back in the box.  Has a bit of food on his beak so hopefully he ate and also brought Cadence some too  happy
