This is hard to watch but it's dads removal of the deceased eyas!!
With the dead eyas removed by the adult male, now the pair can focus more on the existing eyas. The NJ Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) Wildlife Biologist would likely not risk the well-being and safety of humans, the last remaining eyas & the adult falcons by going up on the courthouse roof at this time. This has been a very rough breeding and nesting season for this new female and resident male and any interference with the natural rythem of things could spell more disaster. Here is a clip of the eyas being removed from the nest but warning, some may have difficulty watching (Betty Ann Kelly)
So, I guess no banding of this lone child! ??

Donna - I believe that note was in response to some people asking if the NJDEP would go up and remove the body of the little one and the eggs. No one had mentioned banding at all in the comments so perhaps that's not off the table yet.

I've asked a couple of times about whether they band and never received an answer.

Doesn't look like it but at least they band. We can always name them ourselves and just match them to their band numbers

NJFW does not name the eyases or any other young. The only year we had an official name was for Linn P in honor of Linn Pierson. We had semi-official via Jim for Ivy, who I called the Shady Lady. Ivy was the hacked chick and last young of Athena and Six, who Mike G and I named. Athena had only a USFD band that was prior to 1995 and Six was banded from Riverside Church in NYC.

I will get to Union County Courthouse shortly to see Cadence in action. Not sure they will band the chick this year because of the stress on Cadence.

4.27 pm and Cadence is in with food again for the baby! So happy to finally see a normal routine here for them.
4.35 pm and baby didn't eat much this time around, probably not used to so much food in one day! Cadence is eating most of it
ps: Six feedings today already that I've seen!
