Austin, Texas Peregrines
«

For the last eight years, there has been a resident falcon on the tower of the University of Texas at Austin. She has lived there alone, although on occasion there have been male peregrines passing through. She has become known as Tower Girl. She is unbanded, so it will never be known where she came from, or how old she is.
But this year, Tower Girl may perhaps have found a mate. She has been provided with a nest box, and all of a sudden there is also a webcam.
I found her visiting the nest box several times today:

I hope it works out for Tower Girl and she finally gets to be a mom!

Awesome, and she has a peachy breast like Beauty! I do wish they would have put taller sides on the patio.

It's wonderful that after 8 years she may have found a mate.
Hoping for eggs and chicks at that location.

Tower Girl is hunkered down in the nest box. Did she do some egg laying this weekend?

On BCAW, they posted a pic of the male and said they think there’s at least one egg.

It's hard to tell, since only a portion of the inside of the nest is visible.

I so much hope for Tower Girl that there is an egg.

I was watching her about 15 mins ago, and she gingerly rose up from the scrape and turned around, then did that rocking motion while settling back down, like she was getting the brood patch in place. I've seen a male bring her food to the box patio only once, which she took and flew off to eat, I assume. That was back on the 3rd or 4th. Wish someone was observing and reporting from the ground, cause there sure doesn't seem to be any bonding at the nestbox.

I wonder if the male that was courting her has now left and gone back home to his real nest site? Texas is known for migrating falcons to spend the off season.
I see someone laying in the nest box. Be nice if she did have a permanent mate.
