News From The Nest

We have a new nest and a new pair of Goshawks this year:
The eagle eyed amongst you may have noticed that the female appears to be an escaped falconer's bird. She is larger than the male and has an extended white stripe from above the eyes to the back of the head. Both are mature birds, denoted by the orange eyes. Younger birds tend towards yellow.

Pretty Cool. The video starts off with the female Goshawk calling. Interesting vocal. Looks like the female has adapted well and is happy with her freedom, but costly for the falconer.
