I really do believe that Nova is very close to laying her first egg. Corazon came in to check on her and Nova came out to the front of the nest box.

Goodnight Nova!

Corazon spent most of the overnight standing guard in front of his egg!

At 6:41 am, Nova arrived.

At 6:45 am, Corazon brought a food gift to Nova, or maybe the egg.  laugh

4/1/26 Falcon Pics

Still one egg. We have to remember that eventhough Corazon raised Nova and Neander's young last year, he is a new mate for Nova. The 2nd egg is definitely late, she usually averages 63 hrs between eggs. But, we've gone way past that time in the past, so I'm not losing hope that there will be more eggs coming. You have to have a lot of patience when watching these beautiful creatures. And if we only have one young falcon to watch this year, I'm good with that.  heart

Another observation is that we've come out of a really bad Winter and our Spring has been very rainy, with cold temps. Yesterday we got a lot of rain. Does weather have anything to do with delaying egg laying?

4/5/26 Falcon Pics

Happy Easter!

Will we have an Easter Egg? The 60 hr mark will be today at 4:23: pm. All we can do is wait and see.

I would normally go downtown for an Easter morning Falcon watch, but I went yesterday instead. I was able to see both Nova and Corazon and even saw them mate on OCSR. So far this morning,  both Nova and Corazon were seen on camera. All seems peaceful and quiet. I'll always remember that Easter Sunday morning when Brian and I rescued Mariah. We were able to scoop her up and get her the help she desperately needed. I will never forget that day. It was an Easter Miracle. And I will never forget my dear friend and fellow Falcon Watcher, Brian, who is no longer with us. Fly Free and Rest in Peace my dear friend.
