: The left band is an auxiliary marker with different colors distributed by region . NY generally uses black/green with a number/letter combination that is designed to be read more easily from a distance with a spotting scope or long range camera.

: The banding team measures the width of the tarsus bone-the lowest leg bone just above the toes-to determine the gender. Females have a wider tarsus than males. There have been some mis-gendered birds over the years-large male or small female-but the bands are loose enough to not be a problem.

Kodak - We were inspired by the building the falcons are nesting on top of, as well as the history of Eastman Kodak Company, which was founded in Rochester and has been an influential company in our area for many years.

: Casey-Etymologists interpret the name Casey to have several meanings such as vigilant & watchful. It is characterized by a sharp, observant nature & alertness. It also means brave in battle, with strength, & protective spirit. These describe impressive qualities of the magnificent Peregrine Falcon.
