Just read this on Twitter-very sad as we've gone over there several times this year to watch the parents at the nestsite.   crying

High winds take down bald eagle nest at Iroquois Refuge, NY, sole eaglet perishes. Eaglet retrieved but did not survive.

Ahhhh, no.  That is so sad.  Kathy, Joyce, Brian H and I were there just a few weekends ago.  One adult eagle on the nest and one on the ground near the stream.  Definitely looked like there was a little one in there.  Darn.   Sad

I just came across that Iroquois reserve recently as I was looking for a few new birding places while I am home. What a shame!
