I shudder to read the word "Last", as it was used in this article. Below is a link to a piece on filming these iconic creatures.... even better if you can find a TV station which is broadcasting this splendid series. We watched Part 1 last weekend, and it is a "Don't Miss"!! Includes archival footage of Dian Fossey. Be prepared for a few tears, not a little anger... and heightened respect for those who carry on Fossey's work.

I wonder all the time how much more suffering the human race can bestow upon the earth and it's creatures. Sadly, people just don't get it! Hopefully the current and future generations will become more aware and save this planet from itself.

I think that should read save the planet from "us".  Its so depressing you do what you can and then you see so many other humans doing the complete opposite. Its like spitting on a forest fire am I really accomplishing anything? But you have to try. I have tried to instill a love of nature in my nieces and nephew and I will continue to try with their children. I have made my home (yard) a place for wildlife. sigh
