Useless fact for the day:- Did you know that the word 'Plover' is derived from the Latin 'Pluvia' meaning rain, presumably because their migration corresponds with the arrival of seasonal rains. Now you know.

The optimum depth of birdbath water, says the Audubon Society of America, is 2 and a half inches. Less water makes it difficult for birds to take a bath; more makes them afraid.
