Here's a good link from the RSPB about how important our gardens (no matter where in the world) are for wildlife. The top advice: Don't be too tidy! (And believe me, I follow this rule to the letter!)

BTW - do we have hedgehogs in the USA? I know much more about Irish wildlife than I do about American...

Wow, cool article Bobbie. I love those little guys, so cute. NO, we do not have them here. Hedgehogs are found in the wild in Europe, Asia, Africa, and New Zealand, not in Australia or North America but some have as pets here.

Pet hedgehogs?! Sheesh! Must have imported the poor wee things... as people have done here with chipmunks. Of course they will probably get sick of them and release them. and who knows what could happen then.

(It is a good piece, isn't it??)

 wave   Imported and bred here in the USA! I googled it and found all kinds of breeders for the cute lil' critters. That can't be a good thing in my opinion. Sigh!  G'day!
