 Sad

I'll never forget Quiver.  I can't remember exactly what year it was, but Wild Wings brought down a few of their birds for a Falcon gathering at the west end of the pedestrian bridge.  Matt B was holding Quiver.  As Quiver was joyfully shouting his very distinctive call, the Rochester Peregrines gathered above on the smoke stacks.  M&K and the young fledglings seemed to wonder, where was this pesky Kestrel?  This was during the time there were Kestrels nesting at the BeeBee Station and quite often we'd see them mix it up aka the infamous Kestrel runs.

Quiver didn't care.  He was a Kestrel and darn proud of it!  Fly Free Quiver!   heart

Terry said that when Flo came into Quiver's life, he was ecstatic.  He adored her.  I'm so glad he had that happiness in his life for a little while.   heart

I'm so glad he had Flo too!  He would puff up when he was near her!  Such a sweet little guy.  I'm glad that he was surrounded by such loving care.  Without Wild Wings, he would never have lived in the wild.   heart heart heart heart

Oh but what about Flo? I don't know if they feel but wow. Maybe a new man will come into her life. Did they ever have kids?

They didn't have babies.  My guess is Flo feels something. She and Quiver were in the same enclosure. When their red tailed hawk, Shasta, died, the female in the wild who visited him daily kept calling to him as did some of the other WW birds.  It's so sad.

It was 2004, my first visit to the Falcon Watcher's weekend!  Here's a photo album of that event tat has a few pictures of the Wild Wings birds, including Quiver.

Patti, these are beautiful pictures!!!  I had to smile at Grissom and Mariah.  This was a year before I started watching in person but I do recall a dropped pigeon-- and a frustrated mama bird!

The pictures of Quiver are just wonderful!

I have a few pics of Quiver from that weekend too.

Shasta was there too. He came out about an hour after Quiver, GHO, and Sierra were returned to their cages. By then most of the watchers were out on the bridge watching the juvies in the gorge.
