Fly Baby Fly!

OK, this isn't a Falcon Watch Report and it's too long for a tweet, so here it is.   Wink

On my way out of work today, I was greeted by the cawing of the Crows!  Very loud.  Hundreds of the black beauties were flying and landing and cawing and chasing and sitting in one tree and on buildings and on cars and the parking lot pavement.  In other words, there were a whole lot of Crows surrounding the Kodak buildings and they were happy to let everyone know they were there.

It looked like a scene from "The Birds".  Good thing I really like Crows and all birds really, but I could imagine that someone with birdphobia might be a little put off.  I cheerily walked through them, talking to them and telling them to be careful.  Thankfully, no other people were nearby, or I may have ended up in a straight jacket.  "They're going to take me away, haha! hoho!"   lol

I walked towards my parking lot finding my car surrounded by Crows, on the ground and the guardrails.  They were everywhere!  Further in the parking lot, there were Crows sitting on cars, hopefully NOT leaving "gifts" for the owners.   devil

After pulling out of the parking lot, I looked up at the Times Square bldg and noticed that there was a bird on top, under the NE wing.  Had to be Beauty!  I pulled over to the side, got my binoculars out and RUT! ROH!  There was trouble in Beauty-land!  It wasn't Beauty, it was a large black bird, namely a Crow, and it was eating something frantically, looking over it's shoulder every few seconds.

Yep, it was a Crow and he had found one of Beauty's caches.  Now where was the beauteous one?  I had to leave, so I left the Crow with a thought.  Be careful!  The rightful owner of the tower and the meal you are enjoying will probably be back very shortly!   hysterical

or she soon will when she finds out he stole her lunch. He was either very brave or very stupid (or very hungry)

Love the crow story. Wonder if you have some of our flock, I have not seen or heard them in a while. hmm.  Oh I always talk to the squirrel and the Blue Jay who lives in the tree where I park at work. I guess we could share a padded room if anyone ever heard me.   silly
