Good piece, Donna, esp re the seed getting mouldy. Here, lots of people put out peanuts, and these can get mouldy too, so they are no-nos when that happens. I wonder... does anyone know whether this applies to mouldy bread? I do not put it out, but Rod seems to think it is fine. Hmmmm... Mostly, this bread goes out to where the Corvids feed... and again, Rod reckons if they eat carrion, what's the prob with mouldy bread??

Slainte!

Just clicked through a few more things on that Zen Birdfeeder site, Donna... excellent! I will not invade your territory by posting from it, but the one on her Nemesis Birds is so true... That is what I was talking about some time ago... my "Bogie Birds" = her "Nemesis"! (I kinda like "Bogie" better...)

I didn't know downy woodpeckers ate Niger seed. I've always had both and never saw one eat it. Interesting! Thanks Donna! Grin
