It was 10 years ago today that we heard the words, "we've lost Dale"   crying

RIP #3 - God needed a Driver - Miss You!

Yes Annette, he crashed on the last lap of the Daytona 500 race 10 years ago and died. heart

He was bigger than life, a little scary, and and had a heart of gold.  We will never forget when he finally won the Daytona 500 (we begin our season with our biggest race) - every pit emptied to shake his had, touch the Goodwrench Chevy Monte Carlo, it took a long time to get down Pit Road.

He was our best driver - fearless, and whether MAK or I like it or not, he taught Jeff Gordon how to do the bump draft (I believe Gordon won those 4 championships because Dale taught him how to).

This is the weekend that NASCAR fans live for, but it is going to be bittersweet this year.  Thanks for asking, Annette

Janet,

Found this nice tribute video on youtube and thought I'd share. You probably already have seen it, but just in case...thought you'd enjoy this nice tribute.
